Where to stay in Hilo, Hawaii. When we traveled to the Big Island of Hawaii, we stayed in The Grand Naniloa Hotel in Hilo. The word Naniloa means “very beautiful.” And this Hilton hotel lives up to its name. The hotel sits on the Hilo Bay and is only 10 minutes from Hilo International Airport.
