  1. Nice drone view of the black sand beach. Before, it used to be a white beach. Now, you see the black sand beach everywhere because the lava covered the white beach when it enter the ocean. It happened in the Big Island, 3 years ago in May of 2018 when the Kilauea volcano erupted and the caldera collapse after that. The eruption last for 4 months. That's why you see black sand beach everywhere when you visit the Big Island for the 1st time.
