New travel changes for Hawaii will be put in place on Tuesday, June 15.
The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) released a report on Thursday, Jan. 21, that projected Hawaii hotels would remain below 50% occupancy in 2021. The report also showed only half of the hotel workers employed in 2019 going back to work in 2021.

Gov. David Ige announced major changes on Thursday to the state’s emergency rules on travel and social gatherings. With Hawaii expected to reach a 60% fully vaccinated rate by July 8, the governor believes restrictions currently in place may be relaxed.
Expect even more visitors to Hawaii starting July 8 with the state allowing vaccine exceptions for mainland residents.
